MG MGF Technical - update 2 :: False Economy :: update 2
Hi Guys, Well some of you may remember this thread from a few weeks ago http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&access=&mode=archiveth&subject=69&subjectar=69&thread=200404051010116476 thanks to all those who commented on that and the previous related thread. Rob, looks like you were right on this one. Just thought I would update as it is particularly appropriate at the minute. The nice guys at Techspeed serviced my car again last week. One thing that Greg spotted was how dirty the K&N was (was going to pick up a cleaning kit at B&G open day). As they had some filter oil he cleaned and re-oiled the cone for me. What a difference!! Not only does the car feel more spritely, but the mpg has shot back up again. I'm only on the first full tank and already I'm up to 410 miles and it's only just in the red. So a word to the wise in this time of spiraling fuel prices... MAKE SURE YOUR FILTER IS CLEAN |

Thanks for the update, Phil - glad to hear you got it sorted! How many miles had your K&N done since last being cleaned? Cheers, Tim. |

Glad to hear that normal service has been restored Phil! :o) Now you're ready for the RR... ;o) |

Hi Tim, Fitted the kit new in July last year, have probably done approx 12-15k miles on it. This was through the worst that the British winter could throw at it and I have to say it was a real mess when he took it off at the service. Cheers Phil |
