MG MGF Technical - What a difference!

I finally got around to fitting my Trophy splitter to thr front of my F over the weekend, On the way to work this morning I couldn't believe the difference!!

Even at 60 mph the front of the car feels heavier, as if someone is pushing the front down! The steering wheel used to fell light and fluttery at these speeds but I had to check to see if the front tyres were flat. I also checked that the power assistance was still working (it was).

I can only recommend that if you haven't got a splitter fitted then fit one ASAP it makes a huge difference. Can't wait for the drive home - a bit faster than this morning to feel the difference!!!

What did you have before?
Paul Nothard

Nothing,

It was just a standard F with the normal front.

yep shows how much i know, doesnt stop me looking for it though, lol

It still has power steering fluid, it just has an electric motor to pump it round.

Look under the bonnet, at the top there is an access hole and inside is a resevoir of power steering fluid.

Clutch. :)

As Paul says that is the clutch master cylnder and reservoir.

The steering is Electric Power Assisted Steering hence EPAS, pure electric and mechanical power, pull the large fuse (under the bonnet in its own box) and you can still steer the car without too much of a problem, if you have no power to hydraulic steering it becomes very, very heavy!

Sorry, it was a sort of weak attempt at humour with our French friend.

note to self: don't try that again....;(
