MG MGF Technical - which HT leads

there are two set of VVC leads avalible from B&G, 8.5mm competition and 8mm high performance which ones should I go for!

whats the difference?

The 8.5 ones are thicker (naturally!), more expensive and slightly harder to fit I understand because they are thicker. TBQH, I don't see any need to go for the competition leads, the 8mm ones will be fine - have them myself.

From the point of view of strength of spark, then the thicker the better - though as Paul says, there is a limit! I believe both types have (the same) decent shielding and insulation, so very little to choose - and both are better than the awful OEM ones.

Go for the 8mm. It is quite difficult to fit the leads anyway as they are thicker than the standard.

Also - change one at a time so you don't get them mixed up.

I found it beneficial to block the back of the car up on 6 ins of wooden blocks to give access to the coils from below (VVC)

I agree with Brian, go for the 8 mm magnecor leads. Straightforward to fit, although as Brian says, finding the coil is the tricky bit ;o)
