MG MGF Technical - wonkey steering wheel
just fitted a new lower suspension arm on my mgf as the bottom ball joint was nackered and now the steering wheel is slightly off center. i'm getting the 4 wheel alignment done on sat and i was wondering if they will adjust it so the wheel is straight again ,also will they adjust the ride height if the camber is wrong? its running at about 360mm at the mo, dont know if i should get the fronts set to 5 mins toe in as seems to be recomended on here, any thoughts? cheers in advance mik |

yes they should. They should adjust the ride hight _then_ the camber |

I've used this, and really like the difference it makes. But if you are nervous about using a non-standard setting, then using the TF setting of 0 toe at the front is another option that works well :o) |

>> 360mm at the mo << This is fractionally low, but still within factory spec (unless you have a Trophy 160), factory spec is 368mm + / - 10mm. So, as the ride height dictates the camber, the camber *should* also be within factory spec. I suppose it depends on how thorough the garage are, or if they want to charge you for something else. ;-) SF |

i did the tracking myself (having borrowed some standard tracking gear)a few months ago and it certainly drove much better. does the laser equipment allow the guy to change the settings to 5 mins toe in? and more to the point will he? allways meant to get the 4 wheel track done but wanted to get the suspension sorted first.was surprised at the cost of the arm,£52 +vat pattern and £42 inc vat for the genuine one.it pays to shop around. |
