MG TD TF 1500 - 12V Connections
In the course of re-wiring my car I am upgrading the circuits with complete fuse protection, relay-equipped headlights and a 12V power port. I need to select switched and unswitched 12V sources. It appears to me that terminal A1 is a good unswitched source, and terminal A3 is a good switched source. Are these appropriate choices? |

Cory - A1 is an unswitched point (brown/yellow) and A3 (white) is switched, unfused, these is a perfect points to take for what you are trying to do. I don't think that I would fuse the A1 circuit as it feeds circuits that you will also be fusing further down stream. If you do decide to fuse the A1 circuit, be sure that you pick a fuse that is sufficient to carry the current that can be drawn through it - at least equal to the full scale ammeter markings. Thx Dave. I agree, no point in fusing these leads because they will be servicing the fuse panel itself. BTW, I am using Evan Ford's fusing instructions, which I understand you helped create. It is a very helpful resource. |
