MG TD TF 1500 - '52 MG TD Dash Lights not working
My dash lights don't work. Are bulbs wired in sequence so if one bulb is bad none work? I know I have one bad bulb. Any other thoughts on tracking dash light problems appreciated. headlights, ignition light fuel light all seem to work Thanks for any help. Dan sexton |

No, the hot lead is crimped to the next segment on each bulb holder. Power comes off of the headlight switch (red) to the either the rheostat or right lower off/on swtich (depending if early or later TD), then out of that to the bulb holders (red w/ white trace). Ground is through the body of the speedo /tach (later cars) with a separate ground wire to the instrument case, and I think the rest to one of the dash panel mounting screws that also has the black harness ground attached. If you don't have the factory wiring diagram and color codes, find one and trace it out. George |

...jump the rheostat and see if they come on...that seems to be a weak spot... I took mine all apart and cleaned it ..... |
