MG TD TF 1500 - 53TD Dash wiring diagram
Can anyone provide me with a copy of a wiring diagram or information where I can find details. I have a number of manuals/books but none of them have the detail I am looking for. |

Is it just a wiring diagram you want for a TD. If so let me know and I will scan one over to you. |

Paul - I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there is no seperate wiring diagram of the dash alone, it is all contained in the single diagram for the car in general. If you are looking for an overall wiring diagram, take David Tinker up on his offer. One suggestion, once you get a diagram, take it to Kinko's and get a 2X blow up of the diagram and then have it laminated - makes things much easier to follow and can be marked up with a grease pencil without making permanent markings on it. Good luck - Dave |

I, too, would like a wiring diagram for a 51 TD. I'm going to add turn signals, and the diagram skematic for the whole car, I have, doesn't show a turn signal. I know this is heracy for an early 51 TD, and that we should use hand signals for that year car, but most people, where I live, think if I use a "hand signal" that I am not signaling them to turn. Ya know! And a TD doesn't stand up to road rage very well..... Thanks |

Bob, Get the wiring diagram for the TF, it is the same essentially as the "late" TD which had the turn signals. The TD and TF wiring diagrams are in the Factory Shop Manual (Everyone ought to have this if you own a TD or TF) It may be that the late TD diagram is in there also, I just don't remember. It may be in Blower's Workshop Manual ( M-type to TF) |

Reference Wiring Diagrams. As Lucas obtained the contract for most of the electrical and lighting equipment, the correct original wiring diagrams are from the Lucas Electrical Equipment schedules, which we happen to have!! We sold quite a lot of the originals at Silverstone last year, but still have all our Library, from which we can provide copies. Ref: to T series we have the following:- 1. MG 11 HP model TC 1945/6 issued Feb 1946 2. MG midget Series TC 1947/8 export models, chassis Nos 3414 onwards, issued Feb 1948 3. MG TD 11 HP Midget 1950, Home and Export. 4. MG Midget Series TD 1952/3, USA export model, issued March 1953. All these wiring diagrams give a full schedule of cable colours, the T series provides a schedule of equipment, dynamos, starters, etc; bulbs and fuses, together with wiring connections for the plc switch. Bob Fulton was enquiring about turn signals, the 52/53 wiring diagram includes indicator warning light and direction indicator switch, but not codes for these parts. We are happy to mail a photocopy to anyone requiring one, for a charge of £6.00 U.K. $10.00 cheque or bill U.S.A. elsewhere enquire. |

You can rely on Don Harmers Remarks. He is our MG guru and has all the info. There is no separate dia for TD Dash. Just finished restoration and used the one in shop manuel. There is a separate under dash harness but it is jus a piece of expensive apparatus. You can make your own |
