MG TD TF 1500 - Advice needed
Hi, I am posting this for my father who has a '53 MGTD. He is looking for a set of original spotlights for the front of his car(1 x spot, 1 x fog I think he said?) but has so far come up with nothing. Just wondering if anyone could advise some places, preferably in the Midlands. Also he has been storing his car, hood up under a car cover and has noticed that the hood has faded slightly where it lays over the hood rails (it was faded slightly but has since got worse) would this be due to the weight of the cover (its quite a lightweight one) or sunlight and is there anything you could recommend to restore the hood colour? Thanks Mark |

Mark, Lucas spot and fog lamps are easilly available secondhand at any autojumble for about £10 each or brand new from Holden (www.holden.co.uk) Hood reconditioning kits can be purchased from www.renovointernational.com Cheers Jan T |

Mark I'm Steve Taylor & I run Stafford Vehicle Components Ltd - we are based in Tamworth Staffordshire. I also own (or am owned by) a 1945 MG TC, in fact I drove it to work today. The lights you are looking for are the Lucas 571 types. We sell high quality reproductions of these will cost £50 each inc Vat. Since I used Renovo Restorer on my TC, we also sell this. What colour is the hood? www.s-v-c.co.uk Regards Steve @ sVc MG TC 0269 MGRV8 |

Many thanks Steve. Have passed your details on to my dad. He will give you a call probably later today. He sounds very interested in the Renovo products. He also needs a 'control box' for the dynamo? But he can explain that to you himself!! Thanks again Mark |
