MG TD TF 1500 - Advice on points of MG interest - UK trip
I will be in London July 2,3,4,5th. Are there any MG related suggestions in the London area that a quick trip would allow? I thought about the Heritage museum in Gaydon but don't know if it is practical matter via public transportation as I won't have a vehicle to get there. Thoughts and suggestions - places of interest? Thanks Rick Walsh |

Gaydon is certainly your best bet, then there is the MGCC headquarters at Abingdon, both visitable by train (pre-bok the ticket to make a significant saving) and taxi. But within London; not much! |

I asked the same thing last fall, and like Ian said not much in about London. I apologize but one of our fellow contributors from across the pond suggested and sent me a newspaper with a listing of "Jumbles" (auto flea markets) I attended two and actually found a lot of info and materials not commonly found over here ( some badges, periodicals and tools) Just a suggestion if someone suggets the Transportation Museum in London, skip it and save $50 admission interesting more for children |

Rick Brooklands Museum in Weybridge is about 30 minutes out of London by train and then a short taxi ride. See www.brooklandsmuseum.com. Usually only two MGs on display (an L2 Magna and an M Type midget) but plenty of memorabilia relating to MGs racing there pre-1939 and many wonderful cars and aircraft to admire. I must admit to being a little biased as I spend a couple of days a week there as a volunteer steward. Unfortunately I will be away on holiday that week or would have offered to host a visit. Dave |
