MG TD TF 1500 - Aftermarket Valve Cover?
Can anyone tell me anything about this valve cover? Period accessory? Dealer supplied? Maker? Thanks.....

There were several after market suppliers of these alloy covers. I have a different one made by Doretti. Contemporary magazines / journals will be the best source of information, unless someone out there happens to recognise it. Dave H |

It's an Arnolt product

I have that one. The recess in the crest has red paint that looks original. The breather is supposed to have a hose that runs up to an oil bath air filter. I just have an ugly hose running down past the block. ....it's on the list of stuff to clean up. |

Bill it is a after market. http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtd/mgtd_magazines.htm You will need to hunt around to find it on the site. Joe |

I had one here at one time. It looks the same as yours Bill. I added the red. I'd say Rod's is different. Notice the raised bosses for the studs.

Mine: I've got the matching side cover. .. |

Thanks...found it in one of the magazines, but it was identified only as aftermarket, no manufacturer indicated. |

Years ago, Moss used to sell repros of these. |

I have one of these, and the matching side cover, on my car since I acquired it in 1977. Never knew it was an Arnolt item. Thanks for the insight. |

Peter Edney still offers a new one. Has no breather and is expensive (₤150). http://mg-parts.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=462_1282&product_id=4652 Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |
