MG TD TF 1500 - Air Filter
Hi, does anyone know of a modern British sold car that has a paper air filter that i could use in my TD in leiu of the oil bath type. Preferably one that fits into the existing oil container. Many thanks Derek |

Derek, Best bet would be to get a pair of the TF pancake filters. They have gauze elements with felt sealing rings, and in my experience need very little maintenance. I got a pair of the repro Vokes ones from NTG last year for my TF1250 and they are good - no oily mess like I used to experience with my old '52 TD in the '70s ....... In the TF the front one of these connect to the rocker cover using a short metal pipe to draw the crankcase fumes back in - you could turn your rocker cover round and connect the front filter to the rocker cover pipe with a length of 1/2 inch heater hose (or block off both ends, which saves on carb cleaning ..).
