MG TD TF 1500 - AIR FILTERS

I just found these interesting air filters on a TD offered on EBAY,,, never saw them before,,,,they look like a casting????

A TD I work on has them. They are a casting, although can be polished nicely, but the backplates (on his) are thin stamped pcs. IMHO they don't do a real good job of filtering or fitting. But he has had them forever, and are part of his MG experience through and through.
