MG TD TF 1500 - 'All Original' Mark II on eBay
It isn't. A genuine TD/C, but lots not original from the factory as claimed: paint, dash, running boards and gas tank ends, missing over-riders, steering wheel, reproduction ID plate, etc. For the right price a good beginning, or a fun driver. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

Tom, Assuming you are talking about the two tone MkII,, Obviously, for somne reason, the seller doesn't want to show the carbie side of the engine,, What's going on with the front valance,,, look at the picture taken of the front from ground level,, one side looks different than the other ,, Is that the front fenders 'broken" off at the bottom??? I'll make a pic of what i mean,,, SPW |

Here is the pic of the front questionable area,,, It looks like the bottom ends are broken off? SPW |

Engine number is 5622 - that would be a very early engine. Doesn't add up to it being in a 1953 car with a car number of 21410. BobbyG |

Wind screen is a pre-53 Bill TD24570 |

eBay 181273396635 Sorry, I thought I had posted the number. The engine certainly seems to have been replaced - never a good thing with a Mark II. I'm sure the seller is not trying to mislead, but just doesn't know. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

Were turn signals standard on 53's? This one does not seem to have them. Bill TD24570 |

Man that's one ratty car. Its worth $4-5k at best. |

Yes, '53 TDs had turn signals. -David |

It's up to $ 13,500 with a couple of hours to go in the auction. No pics of the carb side of the engine, but in one of the pics it appears that the carbs are HS4's, which are correct for a Mark II. Engine is from a much earlier car, early enough to have the smaller clutch. Windshield as has been noted is not a '53 - the wiper motor is on the passenger side. Still, at that price the car being a Mark II which is kind of correct despite the older engine is a pretty good buy. It looks like it can serve as a driver for a fair time before undergoing restoration. If it goes for close to where it is, somebody is getting a pretty good deal. BobbyG |

What is the bracket under the driver fender? Looks like a muffler bracket. Here is a picture of it. Also, there is something wrong with that ID plate. Note that the color in the letters is silver and the numbers just do not look correct from other TD's I have seen Issue with car and engine number also is concerning. |

Bruce the ID plate is a complete repop, and badly done at that. Tom Lange MGT REpair |
