Gordon..
That photo of the egg looks like a Kangaroo with a clowns hat and collar. You shouldn't have eaten it but put it on EBAY. People will buy anything.
Thanks for the fine photos. I envy you today.

From the photos from your Niagra link--

Like a returning nightmare. I thing that I am the one that put all those extra instruments in that Lotus Elan. I remember thinking that by the time at took to read all of them the little 105 E series twincam Ford would have already "Done blown up!! As I recall the owner was a Pilot.

The Lotus would have been in Ohio in about 1969 or so

Man am I getting scarry old of what?

Ha.... my first thought on seeing it (and why I took the shot) was "what the hell are all those gauges for".... Can't believe how many there are... He must have been a pilot!!!!

As I recall we put in two vacuum ( one for each of the 40 webers) and one for oil level, two for temp (one H20-one head). One for fuel pressure on both of the pumps. and the damn clock. The owner as I recall had a car rental company in southern Ohio. We had set the Elan up to close to stage 3 or 26R spec..A very hot setup for a street car!

The Elan was pressed Fp up into SCCA C production with only 105 cu in. and could still run with the Small engine (327cu in.)Bp Whorevettes whose mirrors never seemed to work. Big fast cars never seem to see little faster cars.

While pushing the customers Elan a wee bit, a lady pulled right out in front of me, Colin was one hell of car builder.. Also note the black badgering on the steering wheel. A very sad year (God Bless, J. Clark) farmer.

Less Safety and more than a little Fast back in the day.
