MG TD TF 1500 - Birch Grey
Has anyone a photo of a "Birch Grey" TF, and are there any in the UK. My TF was originaly painted this colour and I am thinking about reverting it back to its original colour, instead of the current white. regards, Paul |

Gday Paul, I own an unrestored Birch Grey 1500. The car wears its original paintwork and red upholstery. This colour was very unpopular in the '60's and '70's so very few have retained their colour. Some Z and Farina Magnettes also wore this colour. See a photo of my car at our club site http://mgtdregister.com/ go to Picture gallery, then Mt Macedon OST. I am happy to answer any questions on TF details and would like to hear from other owners of Birch Grey cars. Octagonally, Matthew. #9097 |

My 1250cc 1954 mgtf is "Birch Grey". We repainted to match its original color when I retored it. |

Thanks to Mathew and Andy for the response to my request, and also to Jeff Payne and Gordon Wright. I have photos from Mathew and Jeff, which I can use as a comparison with other TF colours. I can see why Birch Grey was not as popular as other colour schemes...the difficulty now is whether to revert my car back to its original colour for authenticity. Though it has to be said like so many other T-series, I do like the MG Red...but maybe the Birch Grey stands out when surrounded by all those red MG TF cars. all the best, Paul |
