MG TD TF 1500 - Chrome plating
I am starting the restoration of a 1954 mgtf and would like to know of any good chrome plating shop. I need to have several of the delicate parts (grill shell) rechromed. I have done two MGA's and the chrome plating available here in Salt Lake City is not the quality I would like. I hate to send parts in the mail that are irreplaceable but that's life. Thanks for any response. John Progess |

John, I can not help you with a suggested plater but I can tell you that since the mid 1980s I have used Federal Express on a weekly basis. In all that time only one package was damaged and none were lost. Federal Express now has both a Ground and an Air shipment system and an Economy Mode. When shipping irreplacable parts the confidence I gain using their service is well worth a few extra dollars. I am not associated this Fed-Ex except as a happy customer. Safety Fast! Jimbo6 1953 TD |

John: Attend some very high quality carshows in your area (concours). Ask the exhibitors where they have there chrome done. Chris |

Try Pauls Chrome located in Evans City Pa. I used them for the grill and headlights for my TD. They do great work. I am fortunate to live close to them so shipping wasn't an issue. I have seen them at the turky run at Daytona Beach and on restoration projects on Speed TV. www.paulschrome.com Hope this helps Ron |

Glad to hear there is another T series MG person out there. I'm located in Logan and have a moderately decent rolling restoration going on my daily driver '52 TD. Harry Ames 435 753 9040 |
