MG TD TF 1500 - Cleaning Brake Lines?
I have recieved all new Master and Wheel cylinders and was wondering if I should clean the brake lines out before installing the new parts. I noticed there was a can of Dot 3 brake fluid in the car but the master cylinder was almost completely dry. Should I use only Castrol LMA? Thanks, Charlie |

Charlie - Whatever brake fluid (other than DOT 5 silicone fluid) you are going to use is good to flush the system. DOT 3 and DOT 4 (Castrol LMA) are compatible. They are the same composition with the only difference being that DOT 4 absorbs moisture much slower than DOT 3. Cheers - Dave |

David, should I use the Master cylinder to flush the system or can you suggest a better way, especially since I will be disconnecting all of the cylinders? Thanks, Charlie |
