MG TD TF 1500 - Close up Pic of TD dash Panel
Can anyone supply me with a close up pic of the TD dash panel. I want to see where the location of all switches & guages are. My panel is missing and I want to make sure I locate the right one. You can post it here or email me. |

Here is a link to mine. Keep in mind that I reversed the rheostat for the panel and the switch for the auxilary (fog lamps) So the big holes are L-R, combination gauge, ammeter, horn push, and ignition/head lamp If your car is new enough to have turn signals as standard, that indicator light is the same as the green low fuel assy, and is in the center above the inspection lamp sockets. The little holes should be L-R, red charging, green low fuel, starting knob, inspection sockets, choke, auxilary switch, dimmer for panel lights. I found a Panel in great shape but the lower line of holes is small - Big - Big and is symetrical on the right side. Your is Big-Big-small also symetrical. I am not sure which is correct for the 52. Did they make them several ways or is this perhaps a TC I am describing? I have a few Q's. First off, great photos. How much did it cost to rebuild all the guages and how can I get in touch with them? Is that green rexine from moss? do you have an extra copy of the pattern for the dash. I ask because I need a glove box door and want to cut a new panel. I need the trim for the glove box as well. On the back of the panel above the guages are two small something or others. What are they? Where did you get the harness & what do they run$ I'll probably come up with more but this will keep me for now. Thanks GB Vince |

Vince - I have had Nisoger Instrument Sales and Service rebuild TD instruments. They are not far from you at: 570 Mamaroneck Ave, Mamaroneck, NY. Phone 914-381-1952. I have no relationship with them except as a customer. Jan |

Vince, there were only two versions, i.e., before and after turn signals. Dave's is the earlier and gordon's is the latter. Some early ones may have an after-market indicator for high beams centered above the generator and fuel lamps. |

Vince, I traced a couple of copies of the fascia, and sent them away. I didn't keep any copies as I re-used the old fascia (I had to keep something wood original!) The upholstry and interior panel kit from Moss came with the vinyl I used, it did require that I reshape the door. Moss has the bead strip around the glovebox door as well, but I reused mine. I'm still looking for a ball catch for the door. APT did my instruments, www.gaugeguys.com The paint on my dials is a special slightly darker green I asked for. APT paints the dials for Nisongers, as well I understand, but I may be wrong. APT is more expensive on rebuilding a gauge ($225 each), but they are inexpensive on the paint ($250 for all four). I think the panel something or others you are looking at are the light fixture holders. The harness is from British Wiring, www.britishwiring.com and was under $500 for a custom TD harness with turnsignals and a dip switch on the dash and a five post regulator, including shipping. hope this helps dave |
