MG TD TF 1500 - Combined oil and temperature gauge
Although on a TC I'm intrigued as to why some cars had a combined oil/temperature gauge and some separate. If there was a obvious change when did this take place? |

According to the NEMGTR 'T' Series Handbook the change take place at TD13914, (Feb. 22,1952). Bud |

My comment was instigated as a result of the number of adverts online indicating that the combined unit was used in the TC. Whilst I now understand whilst it is possible to use it is not original. |

Well, my car TD8986 came to me in 1977 with a separate oil pressure gauge in the far left hole of the central panel and the horn/dipper switch moved to left of the speedo. I have seen just a few others at shows with this set up. Maybe some dealers or distributors did it this way early in the life of the cars?

I have a Jaeger temp gauge in the same color as the TD in my 50 TD. It is mounted to the left of the steering wheel. Not factory, but it may have been an option that the dealers could add. |
