MG TD TF 1500 - Correct Lucas fuse locations on TF

I think all these years I've had my fuses reversed from their correct locations on the fuse block. Never had any issue, but wanted to confirm and get them in their right places. I've looked at a number of archived threads on fuses, but those seems to trail off into anecdotal discussions.

I believe the correct placements for LUCAS FUSES are:

A3 to A4 is the 25 amp continuous 50 Amp fuse
A1 to A2 is the 17 amp continuous 35 AMP fuse

Thanks,

Jim, I think that we've all 'known' that the horns are on the 50 amp fuse. The horns are connected to the (A1-A2) terminals. That would put the switched circuits' 35 Amp fuse on the (A3-A4) terminals.

I just went through the TD/TF Workshop Manual and a TD Operation Manual looking for fuse information. It doesn't exist. Closest is talking about a 35 Amp spare fuse on page 57 of the TD Manual.

If the 'horns are on the 50 amp fuse' is valid, then your listing is reversed. Maybe the TF Operation Manual might have something more definitive. Bud

Bud:

Thanks for the confirmation. The TF Operation Manual also does not specify the fuse sizes or their proper location in the fuse block. One other question...does the power flow from A1 to A2 and from A3 to A4?

Power goes from starter switch to A1, A2 goes to horns, permanently live, horn button provides the ground.

A3 white wire is live when ignition is ON, A3 feeds fuel pump, coil and ignition light. A4 goes to brake switch, turn signals and windshield wipers.
