MG TD TF 1500 - disk brake
my TD runs like hell, the only problem I see, is the braking capacity of this car with the original braking system. Is there somebody who knows if we can modify the front brakes with a disk braking system. I saw such modification on MGA. Thanks in advance |

I think the MGA came out of the factory with front disc brakes. |

This is not an uncommon conversion. The MGA front suspension, brake and wire wheel assembly will fit on directly and you'll have to fit an MGA brake cylinder. This also means you'll have to fit the entire splined hub assembly on the rear axle to mount the wire wheels. If you want to go with solid disc wheels, you'll have to jury-rig TD/TF solid wheel hubs to retain T-Series appearance, as the MGA uses 4-bolt wheel patterns and the T-Series a 5-bolt pattern. Somewhere I have some pictures I took last year at GOF South in Sebring of a TD so equipped, and I'll look for it and send it separately. Regards, Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |
