MG TD TF 1500 - Driving up to Moss in Virginia

Driving up to Petersburg to see some friends and thought we'd stop at Moss just to see what the place was like. We were going to take the B, but I decided the trunk isn't big enough and decided to take the truck. I think it's a bad move going there, but I'm taking my check book anyway. There's already 10 things on the list! I'll try to get some photos. Be nice to know where your moneys been going for the past ?? years.(Grin). PJ

PJ,

I've never had the opertunity to be in a Moss store, I wonder what a face to face question session about quality issues would be like ????

I went there earlier this year for an arranged tour with the Virgina Mini club. I've been buying from Moss for over 20 years and I wouldn't want to add up the money that represents!

Very informative and interesting to see, although mostly just a huge warehouse with parts on shelves. Most interesting was the upholstery shop where leather is cut and things are actually put together.

I tried to slip a new MG midget front fender into my coat on the way out, but didn't get very far :).

I wouldn't hesitate to ask the "quality" question. From what I've read and heard it is something that Moss is constantly trying to address and that they admit they haven't always got it right.

I can't believe it. I was working in Petersburg for 8 weeks last year at his time. Never knew there was a Moss dealer there. I was buying parts back then too.
Oh well, maybe next time.

I was amazed at the size of the warehouse, it seems to go on forever. The store is small, but nice and has a lot of chrome accessory's in it. Came back with a thinner wallet, but I knew that was going to happen anyway. Glad we went. PJ

PJ, Having the opportunity to look at the chrome pieces before you purchase is probably worth the trip alone. I've recieved some pretty shabby stuff over the years. It's pretty much the luck of the draw.
