MG TD TF 1500 - Dynamo rebuilder needed in France
Occasionally I get requests for help from my Ttalk.info website. A 1955 TF owner in France needs a source of rebuilding for his dynamo. If anyone can help him out, please contact Thierry Suchier at thierry@akrylic.net . Thanks, Bud |

Looks as if he's heading toward an alternator. The one he mentions is from Holland and is called a dynamiter. Can't find it on line anywhere. Bud |

Well done Bud for trying to help Thierry. I can’t find any called a Dynamiter? Dynator-yes. There are a few Lucas like alternator devices however. |

I've had great experience with my Dynamator. It's especially great for use in parades. I suspect that the same folks that had problems with them are the same ones that had trouble with positive earth pertronix units. Bud |

My latest response from Thierry:
Hello Bud, Just a quick email to keep you up to date as I've just finished the installation. With Franz's help, I found a supplier in Holland, at about the same price as yours. Here are some photos of the dynamator assembly. And how light it is compared to the dynamo. I was able to hold it in place with one hand. The pulley supplied with the dynamator doesn't have the same offset as the old one, and is about 15 mm (0.63") smaller. So I had to create spacers to bring it forward. I've just run my motor, and it seems to work. All the lights were on and there was no voltage drop on the ammeter. Thanks Bud. Good Sunday Thierry It looks as if he has acquired a Dynamator. Almost the same as mine. Bud |
