MG TD TF 1500 - Eastwood 'After Blast'
Just got an email add from Eastwood about their new "After Blast" spray. "Designed to degrease, clean, etch newly blasted metal to protect from flash corrosion". "Leaves zinc phosphate coating perfect for paint, primer, or powder." Sounds great. Has anybody tried it yet? Flash rust has come up many times on this BBS. Wish this existed about 6 months ago. I'm done blasting for now, too late for me, but maybe somebody else out there needs some? |

No, but as I approach the painting of my PA, I think it sounds like a good try. Thanks. Gord Clark TF4592 Rockburn, Qué. |

I saw that as well and plan to get some. I have used their Metal Wash and it seems to work good. Also in the same catalog that had the after blast was a special paint for the inside of the frame that comes with a special wand to insert through the bolt holes and it has a very large spray pattern to get all the cracks and crevices. Thanks for the explanation folks. When I saw the thread title I thought it was something to do with Colonic Irrigation ( or worse!). |

Ed - That sounds very much like Eastwood's Fast Etch that I have been using for several years on fuel pumps that I work on. If it is, I have left coil housings treated with that after bead blasting them for over a year in my basement work shop with absolutely no rust ever showing up at all. Great stuff (although probably not recommended for Colonic Irrigation). Cheers - Dave |

Dave, it's supposed to be something "brand new". They even have a Youtube video demo on their web site. Interesting. |
