MG TD TF 1500 - Ebay TF
Just found a 54 TF on ebay that no one has bid on and it has just under two days to go. Item #4585556228. It's listed as a 1954 MG. (no reference to TF). I'd guess that's why nobody has noticed it. Foolishly I told my wife and she reminded me that I promised not to buy another one until my current one is finished. It looks like it could be a good deal for someone. Terry |

That looks like a project car. The starting price is acceptable, but I wouldn't go much above that, unless I was able to do an on-site inspection and find out that it was better than it looked in the picture. The seller definitely needs to market his product better, more pictures and a more complete description would help. It would be worth checking out if I were within driving distance for an inspection. |

Terry I see that you are in cali. I am about 15-20 minutes from Floral park. The auction ends in about 1 day & 11 hrs. I may be able to look at it on Thursday night but that will put you very close to the auctions end. Let me know if you are interested. I have no interest in the car but would love to see this MG go to the right owner. I can look over a TD or a midget soup to nuts but not too sure what to look for in a TF. TF owners please respond so I can get some pointers other than the standard stuff. Terry call me if you would like some assistance. Vinnie 1952 TD. 631 806 3374 |

IMHO...On a TF look at body timber (same as any "T" series), The engine (whist looking for a 1500 this was the thing I saw that was "wrong" the most! Again nothing wrong with a 1250 or even a car with a volvo or MGB motor in it...just that the price shoild be in line if it is not the "correct" engine.) I ran into a whole slew of "1500's" that weren't actually 1500's. I don't think a lot of the PO's even knew they were wrong. Fiberglass "wings" ....this another thing I saw quite a bit of...don't forget Naylor made fiberglass replacement parts for the TF...I encountered more than one put together this way. Again ...not a "bad" thing, but to my way of thinking one puttogether with re-pro parts was not worth the same money to me as an orginial car with correct motor. Documentation for any "claims made" and a contract between buyer & seller as to what should happen if all is found not to be "true" to any claims made is not a bad idea. That's my $.02 worth.
