MG TD TF 1500 - Extras?

Take a look at this e-bay TD. Very low reserve, but what are the extras on the firewall? Onle looks like a fire extinguisher, but the item on the driver side and down by the oil filter are different.

Not sure what that rectangular box by the oil filter is...Is the long thing on the driver's side some kind of siren/horn?

Bruce; Been years since I've seen one, but the small silver box is an early motion detector for an alarm system.Had a simple swinging pendulum inside to trigger the system. I would say Gordon is correct about the siren-most likely part of the alarm.
