Strange LBC indeed! A very nice restoration, but strange! IMHO I would be more inclined to "believe" if it were unmolested, rather than obviously restored! Althought the "badge" says "1500" the engine says "XPAG"? Makes me wonder if engine has not been bored out and somebody decided to have the badges "made" to call attention to the extra work that went into that? I would have to see some pretty convincing documentation to make me believe anything different with what goes on in the world of classic & collector cars these days! I guess I have seen just one too many "Cobras" wearing a "427" badge with 351 engine, "TD's" with V6's and automatic trannys (fiberglass), "TF's" with Volvo 1800 engines (fiberglass), 40 willy's & T-Bird's made of "glass", at least one "69 Ford GT40 (according to title) that looked too much like an "Avenger Kit", more "55 Porshe Spyders" than were ever made, a "59 Austin Bug-Eye" that had the "backend" of a 64/65 sprite (trunk & all) graphted to it,ect...ect...to believe much of anything today! I turned on the TV the other nite and watched a guy take the hood off a Plymouth Roadrunner and bolt it to "Satalite" model then take it to auction with a $50/$60k reserve on it! The "market" is willing to "bear" more than I am concerning these kind of things! Maybe I am too "old-school" with all this ...I did not attend a large "Classic & Antique" show near me this year when I learned the featured Marque was "PT Cruiser". LOL (not kidding here!) Speaking of hoods (bonnets?) the one on the car on the French forum will add 15 miles per hours with a 4.3 rear end. ;>) I'm kidding about the louvers, which I actually kinda like. Dallas |

It is a very pretty late model TD, but it isn't a TD/c (Mark II) and certainly not a 'Mark III'. There are no signs of Andrex shock absorbers, no extra fuel pump, and no 'c' designation on the s/n plate. The 'Mark III' badge is simple plastic engraving, like the nameplates found in any office building. sorry dave |

Funny thing on the TD/C ,just bought one to play around with thinking it was a regular TD. Not obvious unless you know what your looking for ,there are no outside markings saying anything is different. |

TJR- While this subject has been run and re-run a few times, aside from the MARK II badges which may or may not be present, (mine did not have them), the carb bulge on the right side, the andrex shocks on the front (or just the added bracket if the shocks are missing) and the black radiator badge are easy external give aways. A TD on ebay recently was not listed as a MKII, but these clues were evident in the photos. Paul TDC 17198 |

Looked at the photos again... that is a really odd way to punch louvers! "Air In-Air Out" Wish my doors fit like those! |
