MG TD TF 1500 - For Steve Averka
Steve, I just received the attached from someone looking for you re: Marshall 75 Supercharger: Bud Steve, I’m not sure how long ago your query was posted on your TTalk website, anyway I’ve just found it. I have an MG TC (XPAG engine) that I’m thinking of fitting with a Marshall supercharger similar to yours. My supercharger is actually a Marshall A75 which is an aircraft cabin blower, except for the port shapes it is identical to the J75. I have recently bought some bits from John Bibby – inlet manifold, supercharger drive end cover, carburettor manifold, crankshaft pulley, pressure relief vale and some seals. Although I had to wait several months for John to reply, I found the best way to contact him was by phone. I have his contact details if you need them. I’m interested to know how your project is progressing, particularly: * Have you installed your supercharger and if so on what engine ? Presumably your TD has an XPAG engine also. * What multiple of engine speed are you running the supercharger at and what boost does it deliver at what engine speeds ? * Has the engine run hotter, with the supercharger, particularly at idling speeds ? * How have you arranged the supercharger lubrication ? * What size carburettor have you used ? * What other mods have you made ? eg fuel pumps & fuel line sizing * What overall performance improvement have you achieved by fitting the supercharger ? Looking forward to hearing from you Regards Charles Colvin Project Manager Transmission charlescolvin@extensionhill.com.au |
