MG TD TF 1500 - Found a Junk TD
I know where there's a junk TD setting in the weeds. It's been there for 3 years. Considering it junk and I have no idea if the drive train is right with the right numbers, what do you think it's worth? It was in a shop for repairs and the owner never came back for it. The shop just shoved it in the back lot and let it set. All the wood has to be shot. PJ |

IMHO: As a parts car it's worth however cheaply you can get it, but at most $2500 if EVERYTHING is there. The body is the most expensive thing to repair, so wood condition is very important. As a restorable XPAG car, complete, I would say up to $5,000 would be reasonable (I bought two on eBay for that in the past year). More if it's a nice car or with special features (TD/C - Mark II, for instance). I don't like even saying it, but parting it out gets a fair bit of change for the good parts, and drags on forever with the smalls (see the Lagrange seller on eBay with his deeams of value). The dash and instruments, carbs, generator, starter, engine, trans, headlights, body parts, radiator, and shell are the bigger ticket items, and it drops off pretty quickly after that. IMHO, of course. Tom |
