MG TD TF 1500 - Fuel line routing
From photos of unrestored TDs it looks like the fuel line runs just inside the radiator support rod on it's way to the fuel pump. But I can't tell if there is some sort of clamp on the support rod nut that holds it stationary. Is there supposed to be one? Thanks Tim TD12524 |

This is my TF on tear down. I'm pretty sure there is a clamp like this on the TD as well. |

I agree with Frank. The line was originally secured with a blackened "P" clip as shown. I also think one or both of the "unused" holes (according to Malcolm Green) on the bulkhead also secured the line, again probably with a chemically blackened "P" clip. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Thank you gentlemen. Tim |

I have always been concerned about that copper line going through that metal "P" clip,, afraid of chaffing / vibration and an ultimate fuel leak,, I put a piece of neoprene hose around it as a precaution. Steve |

Steve you convinced me to do the same. Thanks Tim |

I don't recall having ever seen a TD with a clip holding the fuel line to the firewall. Granted, there are holes in the area. Clausager's car shows the holes to be unused. (But, I'm not About to swear by him.) Bud |

This is one of a few that I've seen here in Sydney. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Fastened to the bulkhead but not to the support rod (not that I can see). Beautiful installation but I wonder if the judges would approve? Not that I'll ever have to worry about that. Tim |

Tim, it's probably going through a clip on the inboard side of the support. Clausager has a good image of one doing that. Bud |

Thanks Bud. Don't know why I didn't check his book first. Tim |
