MG TD TF 1500 - Gas pedal rod hole in the firewall
Is there supposed to be some type of boot or grommet in the hole where the gas pedal goes through the firewall? I have not found anything on the merchant's web pages for this, but it seems interesting that they put a boot over the steering wheel shaft, but left a hole in the firewall for the gas pedal rod. |

Pretty sure just an open hole. Dad's friend bought my TD new, sold it to dad, then dad passed it on to me. (Never had the tub off of the frame) Len |

Bruce, If you feel you need to plug this hole. You could use the gator from a master cylinder and just hold it in place with a zip tie in the throttle shaft. Though I don't think much in the way of fumes will come into the cockpit through there. But it would make it look good. :) |

It is a moderate hole and it is on the exhaust side. I have to believe it is one of the areas where engine fumes come in. I just find it interesting that MG built a leather boot to go over the steering column, but left a hole in the firewall. It is covered by the snap-in carpet piece that goes on the firewall. |
