MG TD TF 1500 - gblawson's 400 mile trip

Hey Gordon would that 400 mile trip be taking you down to Connecticut for our British By The Sea car show this coming Sunday. Would be great to meet you if it is.

I have family in Gaithersburg, Maryland so am driving down there... there is also a British show in Evanston(?) MD on Sunday, so if all goes well, I will stop in there with the TD and my brother with his A Twin Cam!

Are you going to 32nd annual " Original British Car Day" held at Lilypons Garden Center, ( www.lilypons.com ) near Adamstown, Md. 21710. If so there may be a special parking spot for checkered grilled TD’s. John

The TD ran beautifully all the way down... 9 and a half hours. Of course it was all in the rain!!! Took too many interstates but kept about 55 or 60 most of the way.
Met John Hambleton at the car show yesterday and had a great visit... was made to feel most welcome... i think there are some photos out there?
Will post my photos when i get back.... am heading out tomorrow (tues) and will take more back roads and spend two days going home.
Other then a bruised left knee from resting it on the door handle, all is well......

Not sure how i did it, but the return trip was 7 hours, mount airy md, to the peace bridge (buffalo).... only stopped for fuel (and once when my fuel pump conked out...quick clean and i was away)....beautiful day....

Yes... the twin cam's 'first' official run... what a great sound it has...sort of a throaty MGB sound!
