MG TD TF 1500 - GOF Central 2

For anyone going to GOF Central next month, we are trying to get all who are interested in haveing a beer and intro session on Sunday nite about 6 PM. Meet in the lobby of the hotel/Resort and go from there. Supposed to be a good pizza/beer place near or maybe at one of the rest. in the resort. What ever, we will be there Lord willing and the creek don't rise. Would like to meet all who can make it. Nice to put a face to some of the folks plus see old friends..

My son and I are planning to attend the parking lot party on Friday evening and attend the Sunday show with my TD.
Hope to meet you there.
Jim Merz

Oops, I thought the GOF Central was the one planned in the St Louis, Missouri area. Sorry. I am not sure how it is identified.
Jim Merz

Tom,

Dan Craig and I are already planning that, I think Bruce Cunha is in, and LaVerne Downey if he makes it. Luckily we planned on the exact same time, 6 PM on Sunday in the lobby.

warmly,
dave

I put this in just as a reminder. Talked to Dan on Friday last. Hope to see a lot of folks there. Sheyboygan is where GOF Central is..
TRM Maine

Jim; Depending on how the timing goes,we may see you in Creve Coeur on our way back from WI. Looks like the event is on Saturday this year, rather than Sunday as in the past. I'll look for a Silver Streak TD - bet there will only be one on the field. Dan

Looks like we will be bringing the trailer to Sheboygan-anybody needs something hauled or picked up along the way from SW Missouri--let me know. Dan
Dan Craig

Hey everyone, dont forget we get to run our cars on the track that week according to an e mail that I got. 20 bucks at registration. I cant wait for that.
TRM Maine

Dan, I am looking forward to meeting you when you pass through town. I registered but didnt check the dates for the local car show. I have it somewhere on file.
Jim Merz

I will be at GOF Central in Sheboygan. (It's where I live.) I may be tied up Sunday at 6 helping MG3, the host club, but will surely be around to meet any of you.

Regards,
Mike Marini

Mike; Looking forward to meeting you. Always good to have local folks to guide and direct we lost and wandering MGers. See you then; Dan Craig

Mike, I hear that there is a great Brat maker on 12th ave or street that I am supposed to go to. I dont know the name but will get it and maybe you can give me directions once we are in Sheyboygan...
TRM Maine

Sure I will give directions. Everyone in the area has their favorite Brats. My vote goes to the brats made by Miesfeld's Market or Johnsonville.

Ok I'm committed or should that be I should be committed. My daughter will be my co-pilot and we will be leaving home early the 11th. Wish us luck.
Taking the mapquest route from Fruita, Co to Sheboygan, Wi. unless somebody has any suggestions that won't take us to far off course (time factor).

See you there.

LaVerne, will be great to finally meet you. See you Sunday nite if the creek dont rise. tom
TRM Maine

LaVerne (and any others),
I looked at the Mapquest route you mentioned and am not familiar with the entire route, but when you get near Fond du Lac stay on US 151 (NOT Business 151 or Johnson Street Exit). US 151 now continues around the south and east part of Fond du Lac and you will then exit onto WI 23 on the east side of Fond du Lac and go east to Sheboygan. This is MUCH easier than driving through downtown Fond du Lac which is long and slow.

Anyone coming into Sheboygan on WI 23 from the west (the only way due to Lake Michigan) go to 14th Street and take a right (south) to Indiana Avenue, OR if you miss 14th Street take a right (south) at 9th Street and go to Indiana Avenue. In either case take a left (east) on Indiana and you will encounter a Roundabout very near Blue Harbor Resort (GOF Headquarters).

If anyone has any questions about your route, Sheboygan, etc. feel free to ask me. I'll try to help!

See you soon in Sheboygan!

Thanks Mike, I'm loaded up and the trucks full of petrol (should get me to Denver, gas money donations welcome) and will be headed out early in the am.

Gentlemen,
I hope you all have a wonderful time.
Was really hoping to make it this year...but just did not happen.
Maybe next time ...really would be nice to meet some of you. I owe most everyone on this board at least one OSH!
Cheers and looking forward to the post event pictures at least,

Today was the prelim for the GOF... the car show at Osceola, Wisconsin, Wheels and Wings. It is a mixture of the Classic Motorbooks warehouse location with the local airport using airport transfers tunbridge wells's Airshow.

Anyway, some of us going to Sheboygan also acted as Hosts... My co-host is physically challanged so he drives his TD/C to the site in his nifty car trailer. I follow behind in my more pedestrian TD enjoying the drive up the Saint Croix Valley. We did trailer in most of our host stuff and then took our supplies the last mile on our cars. The Minnesota MG Group and the Minnesota T Register like to 'take' the hill behind the car show for our cars. So the hosts arrive at the crack of dawn. We always have the largest contingent of cars between our two clubs.

The load shown is on Steve Wincze's designed Amco rack brace: two tables, 48 bottles of water, 48 cans of pop, two coolers, and 40 lbs of ice. Couldn't do it without Steve's Brace!

I do believe I'm ready for Sheboygan!

warmly,
dave

Dave Braun

Hahahaha....OMG....that is quite a load.... of course Dave didn't post the photo from a second later......

gblawson(gordon)

As in the Guinnes commercials...

Brilliant!

Thanks for the laugh Gordon! (That photo may make it to my website...)
Dave Braun

Steve needs to get busy on wheelie bar design for T series!
Your slipping Gord....no checkerboard TD grill in the parking lot!
Cheers,
David

Printing and framing that one, Gordon. Gotta look at bottom of Dave's bumper tommorow - that load makes the pic believeable. We're about halfway to Sheboygan-late start and lots of road construction. Later all- Dan
