MG TD TF 1500 - GOF South XXXIV Mt. Dora, FL
The GOF South XXXIV seems to be rather confusing. Has anyone else found out that there isn't any dinner tickets left, no rooms in the Mt. Dora Inn, but they still want your money? Registration fees are the same even if you are not bring a car (I am restoring my TD)and their comment is "you don't want to support the GOF." |

Don, The host hotel (the Lakeside Inn) decided to have a wedding using wedding cars tunbridge wells the same night, and yanked a bunch of dinner seats. There at least was a lenghty list of alternate lodging places nearby. The host club is basically run by a handfull of folks, due to death, moving, etc. Trust me- the organizers are less than pleased with the hotel, but cannot change at this late date. They are a great bunch of people, and have done more to keep T-types on the road than anybody! (Where else can you get two orig. TF air filters for a few cases of beer?)The MMM register is having their annual meet in conjunction, so this added a bunch of people. I understand there will be 2 PB's that ran at LeMans in attendance, as well as Jerry Gougen's K-3. The whopping $20 or so registration fee also included unlimited beer, munchies, and all the comeraderie in the world. Disorganized-yes. Could the club use help-yes! A great time- absolutely! I hope you can make it! The TF 1500 I restored 11 years ago will be there, as well as my driver TD. Hope to meet you. George |

Thanks for your input. I requested my money to be returned. I do not understand how a business can just up and change things, poor excuse in my book! I have changed my plans now to drive down Sat. AM to view the cars. Don |
