MG TD TF 1500 - Hardi fuel pump
I have been given a brand new Hardi 12volt fuel pump which I believe is similar to a SU. Does anyone know if it is able to be used in a positive earth situation in my TD. Other than the manufacturers name on the end cap it has stamped on the body 12V3494.The inlet and outlet ports as well as the mounting holes are as they are in the SU. I have tried to find them on the net to no avail. Thanks for your help. John...Sydney |

John, As far as I know they are electronic. I have one on my Morris minor for the last seven years without any problems. The only thing I find is that they are noisy and should me fitted with rubber mounts and an extra earth connection-see photo. I suggest you contact Hardi in Berlin just to check before you fry the electronics as they do not show all their pumps on their website. http://www.hardi.de/contact.htm Address Hardi Dr. Richard Schröter GmbH & Co. Bielefelder Str. 5 10709 Berlin Telephone +49 - 30 - 864 733 0 Telefax +49 - 30 - 862 11 47 info@hardi.de Regards Declan |

Thank you Declan. I don't want to install the pump and have a chance in destroying it so I will contact them today, John |

I contacted Hardi who advise that the fuel pump will operate on positive or negative earth with the markings stamped into the body 12V 3494 shows it is 12 V manufactured in week 34 in 1994. John |
