MG TD TF 1500 - Help me find TF drawings by Paul Probst
We can't let these disappear ...
Paul Probst (Propst), from Holland Michigan, made a series of drawings of TF details in the 1990s. I have attached three of them - TF Chassis Clips, TF Front License Plate Holder, and Battery Bracket Rubber. He also made drawings of Lucas 700 headlight. Do you know where I might find all of his drawings, or who may know about them? I want to save them and share with T-series owners. Thanks for your help, Lonnie TF7211 ==== November 30, 1999 Colin Stafford wrote on the BBS: "I have a friend who is "Mr Original TF Fiend of the World" Paul Probst in Holland MI USA. He has documented almost every original part on the TF and has done a who series of sketches of many items." I cna also connect you with Bob Probst in Holland MI, who is the ultimate, original restorer on TF. He has tons of info available. You can contact me on Prodigy MDFG64A or call 248 647 2476. Well, that is absolutely gorgeous! Unlike my car which has almost 350,000 miles on it. My TF too, is also unrestored but as you might imagine, the paint is rough, and I’m now going through a series of upgrades to cover some things I should’ve done years ago. I’m the original owner. The only visible, non-original item on my car is the chrome wire wheels that I purchased directly from Dunlops in 1957.
I’ve driven my TF to all four corners of the continent. The Canadian Maritimes, California (original Route 66), Florida, and Vancouver, (but not to Alaska or Tuktoyaktuk) and much of this before the interstate system was developed. I’m getting old now and don’t drive it as much but when I do, if possible, it’s always with the windscreen down ... can’t miss me. I the guy with the silver hair and red face!
