MG TD TF 1500 - Hood buffer pad- Paint or no paint?
Question: just purchased new hood buffer pads for the TD. They are, of course steel, with black rubber pads....so do I paint the steel or just let it be? Thanks guys,Rich. |

I painted mine black. I think that is proper, I have seen them in car color also. |

Mine are satin black... but they are actually bonnet buffers... see photo from my website. Masked off the rubber warmly, dave |

When my fuel pump packs in, I switch to a coal fired steam boiler. Would you like to see my plans? Nice back up system for only $22,500. warmly, dave |

Thoralf & Other Interested Parties, I have been using the grey ash from my fire place to soak up the oil drippings from the engine. A light covering will absorb the oil, and leave very little mark on the concrete. I use an old toothbrush to scrub the ash around and it cleans up very well. The shovel would still be a good tool for the clean up. George PS: the ash is from pine wood for the techies. |
