MG TD TF 1500 - How many remain?
If I recall correctly, there were about 30,000 TD's made and ?? TF's. Does anyone have an educated guess as to how many remain? I would guess that as many as a third of these are still around - not neccesarily drivable. Thoughts? Happy New Year! Jim |

Jim I own a 53 TF 1250. Afew years back I began creating a register of TF to see how many I could account for worldwide. To date my list contains 809 cars still up and running, the total production run was 9600 including 1500s. I have been in touch with Ian Mckenzie of the Victoria MG club in Australia who is currently working on a TF data base which will be posted at www.mgtfregister.com when completed. I forwarded a copy of my register to him and he calculates when combined with the Australian cars the count should be somewhat over one thousand cars. If you would like a copy of my current register drop me a line and I will send you the file, its and excel spreadsheet which lists cars by owner chassis number, engine number, body number, color, country and e-mail address of owner when available. Glad to see Im not the only fellow curious about numbers....cheers Jeff |

Yes, here I am. I have a list of about 325 TDs which I believe are still in running order. Most are in North America. If you would like a copy, Email me and I will Email it back. It is on Word Perfect. For those who I don't have. Send me Your Car & Engine Number off the large brass plate on the tool box as well as the Engine number on the small brass plate on the right front side of the engine. I would also like to now if your TD is right or left hand drive and if it is a Mark II (which I have). Your name and where you live would also be appreciated. On the list I send out, I only list your State or Province & Country. George Merson TD # 5905 |

I own a running 54 MG-TF that is in excellent condition. The vehicle has 27 miles on the newly rebuilt balanced, original engine (1300). I am considering selling my MG and want to know the price range I should list the vehicle. |

In addition to Ian Mckenzies TF register in Australia there is also a TD register which previously had only been kept as a paper based record and has now been placed on the Victorian MGCC website. Compiled by Doug Hastie, it lists over 200 known Australian TD,s with a photograph, history and current owner details. It is well worth a look and includes Frank Wellmans recently restored TD, one of the oldest TD's number 00259, the eighth TD built. To view this register go to mgcc.com.au and select Victoria on the map. select registers, select T Type and click on TD register. |

Hello there T-type freaks. When so many T-types are registered in the Nemgtr (appr. 25 % of the the total production), why don't we try to register all remaining cars in a register that is open to everyone? As this website is starting to become the main MGsite, this must be the place to realize it. I would very much like that Erik |
