MG TD TF 1500 - How Much Should I pay?
After looking far and wide I have found a 1553 MG-TD in the following condition. Good body and wood but will need painting. Engine and drive train in good working order. All origional with good top, side curtains, new leather seats. All instruments work properly Chrome in good shape but about half probably needing re-chromeing. Only part missing is origional air filter assembly. While I know price varies greatly, please give me a WAG on what would be a reasonable price for vehicle. This will be my first adventure into a TD restoration (have finished a 77B and 57A) so any help appreciated. |

I'll leap in with an estimate on either side of $10,000. I'd want to be sure that the body and wood, particularly in the nether parts of the tub, are indeed sound. Andy Moyce 52 TD' |

Donald I agree with Andy. I paid $9K for mine, body and chrome in same condition, no new leather seats, engine very good but transmission problems when shifting from 2nd to 3rd ( no problem if double clutching). Mine I bought from a classic dealer in california. I am very please with my car and doing minor repairs until a total restoration. Amazing, I paid $350.00 for a 1951 when I was a college student in 1962. That one I restored(not professionaly) and later sold it as my family grew into a bigger car needs. Go for it! |
