MG TD TF 1500 - Ignition Switch ?

The ignition switch in my 50 TD 2499 if different than the one described in the 1950 wiring diagram.
The switch is a Lucas LC 6
Looking from the back of the dash the "A" post is at the 1 o-clock position. The "IG" post is in the center.
The exposed bridge or what ever the thin strip is, is just to the left of top center.
An "L" post is at 8:00 with the "L" above the post, then the "T" post at 7:00 with the "T" inside or towards the bottom of the switch, then at 6:00 there appears to be an unfinished post, the brass is not drilled out nor is it identified but the letter "T" is between this missing post and the one I assume is the true "T" post and finally at 4:30 there is an "H" post.
Can someone verify the function/connection of the "L", "T" & "H" posts.
Thanks
Morris

Hi Morris, I have just pulled my Ignition Switch and noticed that it is exactly as yours. This is how mine is connected: L is unused and just a post on mine. A = Goes to Fuse A1 and is Brown/blue. T = Park lights, front side lamps and Panel light switch and is Red. H = Hornpush and goes to Dipper Switch where it becomes blue/white on its way to the headlights. IG = one white wire to Ignition Warning light and another wire too Fuse A3 (Coil, Petrol pump). Hope this can help you or possibly the wiring diagram can. I am about to rewire my TD to original so please keep in touch for moral support.

Thank you for responding. My TD was rewired by cutting all the wires entering the tub behind the dash and connecting each wire to a block with about 16 terminals. They then connected a dash wire to the appropriate unmarked lug and wired up the dash all with the same coloured wire.
At the moment my head lights, brake lights and horn aren’t working and I am trying to fix this problem for the season then rewire the TD when I repaint next year.
Your information will help immensely as I was truly operating in the dark not knowing for sure where each wire was supposed to go with the different letter coding on the back of the switch.
I have removed the seats so it is a bit easier to work under the dash.
The wires are too short to pull the dash away so that I can readily work on it.
I have attached a picture of the wiring block
Thanks again
Morris

Morris:
Looking at your pic....for what it is worth and IMHO ...you could replace that terminal strip with a fuse block for a very small investment. If your going to "run" the car from this old wiring and there IS reason to suspect changes have been made....this would give you a good place to "isolate" your circuits whilst you get things sorted out!
Think about it ...for under about $10.00 wouldn't you rather "pop" a few fuses than burn your car down?
I re-wired my TF with a hidden fuse block located under my dash. when you look under the bonnet it "looks stock" with only the 2 original fuses there ...but I have the peace of mind knowing my wiring is much safer now!
