MG TD TF 1500 - Ignition warning light/ammeter
For the past several days, I've noticed that the warning light remains on while driving. Increasing speed reduces the brightness somewhat. The ammeter shows a slight discharge. Wondering about the condition of the dynamo? Have not posted for several years but good to see familiar names. Many thanks for any thoughts. 1953 MGTD round tail lights. Fan belt slipping? New brushes required? Loose electrical connection? The first things to check perhaps. Dave H |

Thanks, Dave....had been thinking about the fan belt and connections but will need professional help to go further. Car needs oil change and grease so will try to sort out problems at the same time. Again appreciate your thoughts. Sam |

Read procedures in factory shop manual. Start with the dynamo output, and go from there. I think you just remove the wires, hook terminals together and then fast idle engine and read voltage, etc. Not that hard to do, but read the book first. This is also in the archive here somewhere. George |
