MG TD TF 1500 - In need advice for steering wheel fastener
I have most of my steering wheel refinished. Just need toget a nice tan leather wrap for the rim (wheelskins will make a custom sized wrap). But..the screw that attaches the center cap to the hub is kind of buggered. Moss does not sell just that screw. It's going to kill me to have to try and order just one screw from some place but I don't know what my options are. Plus..I don't know what the thread size is. I think it may be a BA size but not sure. Anyone have the specifics on that? And also recommendations where I could reasonably get just a single screw like that? I may purchase a few other BSF fasteners just to stock. Thanks. |

Larry, If memory serves, it is fairly small. I'm guessing 2BA which a 10-32 screw will fit very, very closely. Why don't you get one from a hardware store (probably under two bits) and try it? warmly, dave |

Larry, My website shows the screw in the attached image. It is an oval head, meaning it has a counter sink head with a slighly rounded head. good luck, dave |

I will try a 10-32 then and see how that works out. I don't want to bugger the threads in that plastic piece though so I'll take it easy. |

My screw will not tighten to hold the center piece in place but a couple of dabs of uncured rubber(clear caulk) around the perimeter will hold it in place and allow for easy removal in the future and you cannot see it. Just a thought. tim |

Larry- I have one that works. It's not quite original but looks great and fits fine. Let me know your address and I'll send it to you. Roy |

Abindgon Spares lists it for 48cents (p/n 23/066). George |
