MG TD TF 1500 - Installing the Engine
Hi Folks, Have a quick question, I have searched but can't find any information that I need. I want to install the engine on my rebuilt 53 TD, it's attached to the drive train, should I have the Radiator installed or removed first? Please advise as I have mounted the rad to fit the hood. Thanks Richard |

Hi Richard, I think you will have to remove it as the top radiator tank would get in the way. Also the radiator stabiliser rods would get in the way. Cheers, Paul. |

Richard, you definitely want to remove the bonnet and radiator. I'd suggest that you look at page A.20 of the Workshop Manual and follow what it says. You'll even have to disconnect the steering column (LHD). Good luck. |

It would be difficult to do the engine and transmission with the Rad. still in. One little point that I have forgotten a time or two. When you unhook the steering column remember to loosten the bolt under the steering wheel so the wheel drops down. You can then pull the steering column up past the oil pump. |
