MG TD TF 1500 - Instrument Cluster Paint
I need help in identifying the color of the instrument cluster panel. Moss is out of the "Bronze" spray paint. I read somewhere (in the archives) that an Antique Metallic Bronze should be a close match, but I can't find that either. Does anyone have recent experience with locating paint for the instrument cluster? Thanks, RT |

Raj, The paint I liked (and was talked out of using) is GM 7157 from Plasti-kote. It matched really well with the bits of original paint under the knobs of my instrument panel. The Moss Paint which I ended up using is the 'default' paint now... so many people have used it that they think it is the original color. Personally, I think Moss matched it to a faded original instrument panel, instead of something protected from light. I think you will find it an excellent color. As an aside, I did end up doing my instrument panel twice... warmly, dave |

I used the Moss spray paint and at least it does match the hub of my Moss repro steering wheel. I had searched hundreds of samples to try and find a powdercoat that matched, but with no success. The one drawback to the spray enamel, in my opinion, is that it is somewhat soft and I am very carefull with the key and my fingernails! |

The panel in my TF 1500 is black. The dash is green and so is the upolstery. And it is the original thing. Mike davis |

Thanks for the information Dave. Is the Plasti-kote a spray? And where can I get it? |

Plasti-Kote is a brand name of Valspar corp, I think. Google it! warmly, dave |
