MG TD TF 1500 - Interesting conversion
Take a look at this TD on e-bay. An interesting mondification on a TD. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MG-T-Series-1950-MGTD-Special_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ31858QQihZ020QQitemZ300032706807QQrdZ1 |

Bruce, Interesting indeed !! But that side mounted spare sure looks ugly !!!!!! SPW |

You know... I love wood...but side panels just don't do a thing for me... or modern seats. Be a nice base to work with however. Tear off the front fenders and find something a bit more appropriate... side pipe is a bit large.... but there again, must be really fun to drive. |

In a way it's not too bad I think. The side-mounted spare is ugly (and unnecessary) but those front wings are nearly right. A temporary engine conversion (a 2,5 litre Riley maybe ?) a chrome side exhaust as on the pre-war Frazer Nash and a period interior with bucket seats (as on the Healey 100 ?), would make a rather nice conversion.... The side spare must be a safety modification for the passenger side. |

It says that he used MGB wheels, which I assume are 14". They just look too small, that one inch sure makes a difference. And I agree with what everyone else said about the extra spare. Ugly and stupid. It's probably fun to drive, though. |

Seats appear to be Fiero. See www.mrmikes@mrmikes.com Gord Clark Rockburn, Que. |

This was a very nice job, for sure. Style is outstanding. Looks great in green. We have a club member in the SF Bay who did a similar approach to a TD using either Nissan or Toyota power. He claim it will easily and safely cruise at 80. |

Hey - this looks pretty good to me. I like the cycle fenders - that's the direction I'm going with mine - but mine are 16" wires, so it'l be interesting to see what the perspective changes are. and you know, I'd thought of that side-mounted spare, but now that I see it, I'm glad I'm sticking with the rear spare. Not Fiero seats, Gord. I had one [one of the last 2.8's with good suspension and a 5-sp; they finally got it right in '88,] and all Fieros had headrests. But you're right - a nice piece to start with. A whole lot better than what i began with. And the Cortina engine? That's a 1600 cc Ford Kent with a Lotus crossflow head, I think? Not sure though...
