MG TD TF 1500 - Leaking brake
Rebuilt a brake plunger cup/cylinder... and it continued to leak. I assume I forgot to do something. Top to bottom; spring, white plunger, black plunger, metal piece (mask?)....ok so there was a rubber washer left, but I did not see a washer when I dismantlement..does the washer go in the cup? |

IMHO- Moss has set of 6 wheel cylinders on sale for less than $100, so pointless to rebuild. The soft pot metal cylinders are usually scored and are rarely smooth enough to successfully rebuild. Especially with a single MC system, not a place to save $. George |

George X2 - Not worth messing with. Cheers - Dave |

Not of much help to you but here in Sydney original cylinders are re sleeved in stainless. This avoids problems that are often experienced with AM parts. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

The only way to go Peter and that goes for the master cylinder as well. John...Sydney |

I have a m/c that was sleeved many years ago in bronze. It is still clean as a whistle using DOT3. |
