MG TD TF 1500 - left overs
I have some left over parts from my TD restoration. One in particular is a distributor, but not a D2A4. It is marked DKY4A 40162E. Anyone know what this came from or how to direct me? Also KOTR side lights, 2 bow side curtains and a few other odd items. Bob |

Bob - the 40162 is a TD distributor, and was a standard Lucas replacement for the original TC/early TD 40048 with pretty much the same advance curve characteristics. There should be some more numbers, the last of which tells the month and year manufactured. Condition is all, as these babies wear the bushings, and the body does come loose from the tube. Tom |

Bob, My TD 4224 "came out" Nov 7th 1950, and had it's dizzy [still has] number DKY4A 40162A. Other numbers [8 50] indicate it was produced in Aug. of 1950 which would be right for my car. I have only had to rebush once in all those years. Other than points etc, and internal cleaning, it has been trouble free for me. I had it serviced by Jeff at Advanced Distributors 4 years ago and he did the rebushing. It runs great and has provided good performance since installed. George |
