MG TD TF 1500 - Light switch wiring
Car is a 1950 TD. Head lights are mis-wired. In the "S" position, all lights (headlights, sidelights, etc) are on. Turning the dipper switch from low to high turns the head lights off. It's probably an easy fix once I can get to the back of the panel. And that's my question. It appears that the six screws holding the gauge panel to the dash should be removed to allow access to the back of the gauges. But, I've worked on enough old cars to learn that what appears obvious isn't always the case. So, just remove those 6 screws & pull out the gauge panel? |

Try crawling underneath first (if you don't have the under dash panel). Yes, you can remove the center panel, or the eight screws and the entire outer dash. Remember to remove the copper oil pressure line and depending on slack may need to remove choke and starter cables from the engine bay attachments to get enough slack. George |
