MG TD TF 1500 - Lucas parts catalog
I think this might have been asked before but I can not find it in the archives. Is there anyplace webside that lists all Lucas part #'s and a cross reference? Thanks.............Curt |

Curt, There is no single catalog covering all years. There were master catalogs covering certain periods, so you will need to be more specific as to the year(s) you are interested in. |

Hello Lew3, thanks. Yes I know about the Lucas 300 catalogs but I was looking for the data/cross reference/listings etc etc etc on a web site link. I saw one years ago but it was only for a few years. And I have seen one (hard copy) of 1931-39 Lucas CAV & Rotax at a Hershey AACA Fall meet last year. It would be nice to have it on-line with the pages photo copied ( too much to ask? ). Curt |

Hello Graeme, it's been a while ! Thanks, that will help. Here is my situation and what I'm trying to do. I bought recently off of a fellow, a big box of Lucas NOS parts still in boxes, many are dated to pre-war. I need to find the make/model from the part # as to what it fits. Someone told me there is a book (paper back) #300 B & C if I recall correctly, that has 95% of the numbers thru 1962. It breaks down each number and it's application. Example: 888888 fits Alvis/Wolsley/Humber Super Snipe etc etc etc. I've tried to Google a couple #'s but all I get is AMAZON ads. Curt |

Here's one source which may help on many parts: http://www.northwestclassic.co.uk/lucascatalogues.html |

I have a 67 page LUCAS SERVICE catalogue showing "Lucas Equipment for 1948-62 cars Index" on the cover. It was published by Lucas Industries Troy Michigan but there is no date. Shows most British cars and part numbers but there is no specific cross reference section. You can look through the part numbers and see what items fit different cars however and there are small pictures of each part at the top of the columns. Maybe this book is a common item? |

Thanks all that replied. Still not what I was after, but it will work. When I find the missing part I'll post it for all to use. Curt |

Curt, there is such a catalog and I have one. It's the 1948-62 catalog that John mentioned, but mine also has cross reference and supersession lists in the back, as well as breakdowns of every device that Lucas made along with the sub-parts in each (for example, the part # for the screws for a turn signal switch). It's about as detailed as you'll ever find. I'm in Pennsylvania, too. Where are you? |

Oh, and for the record, I have a very extensive parts book inventory... I bought the entire contents of a British car parts store in the early 80's and that included all the parts books as well as all the parts, too. So I've got period catalogs and price sheets from Lucas, Smiths, Jaeger, BapGeon, Amco, Abarth, Paeco, MG Mitten, Repco... you name it. If someone needs help just drop me a line. |

Here are links to some Lucas Parts Lists. Those are excellent resources, Lonnie. The catalog you referenced first is sort of the 'fast moving parts' catalog from Lucas and has a wealth of good information - I have that one, too. The other one I was talking about is much more comprehensive, though... it's about 2" thick and literally goes down the the screw, gasket and springs level. I really can't turn it into a PDF - the file size would be too huge. |

Curt - is this what you are looking for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LUCAS-MASTER-PARTS-400E-JAGUAR-HEALEY-ASTON-MARTIN-MG-ROLLS-ROYCE-TRIUMPH-/222247573794?hash=item33befcd922:g:4ZAAAOSwgmJX1hPz&vxp=mtr Tom Lange MGT Repair |

That's the one I have, Tom. The description of "The Holy Grail" is right... it's the most comprehensive of all the Lucas catalogs ever available. The "A" section lists every car and every Lucas device used on that car. The sections shown in the photos are of each device and all the sub-parts for that device. I didn't see it in the photos, but be sure it includes the cross-reference and supersession lists in the back. |

Again, Curt, if you want to use my catalog, please let me know. I'm in PA too, so perhaps we're not too far apart for you to visit. |
Kevin McLemore |
Tom & Kevin thank you. Yes that is exactly what I need, in an on-line version. I honestly think I have seen & used a very comprehensive LUCAS tutorial in the last year. Kevin, thanks for your offer. You are my neighbor 6 hrs to the east (grin). I'm over near the Ohio line. Curt |

Ah, yeah, that's kinda far away. But if you can wait until Thanksgiving we'll be heading out your way then for a family trip to Michigan... I could loan it on the way out and pick it up on the way back. |
