MG TD TF 1500 - Marshall Blower

After too many years in the corner, I am in the process of bringing my TD-MKII back to life, (street - some track time as well). Am fitting a Marshall J75 that I have had for a very long time, but never installed. It was fitted with a thin (+/- 3/8 oil feed line running to the regulator on the nose. Rough fitting it up, shows the source of oil for the feed line would appear to be the oil line fitting at the rear of the head, (banjo bolt and 'Y'). The more pressing question is where do you return the oil you put in? Assume it would be a low pressure area, (valve cover - inspection plate, ?), but never had any info on these small, but needed aspects. The return fitting and the remaining section of pipe at the base of the nose, is considerably larger than the feed. Is there a pressure issue for the return, or is it just a gravity return? Any advice on the fitting up of the lubrication, or any other aspect of these new-to me beauties, so as to avoid problems, or ugh - damage, would be appreciated.

Paul, from the literature I have seen, the return line runs from the blower downhill all the way to the fitting I mounted on the side inspection plate, while providing clearance for the generator. It is a gravity drain but since you are only setting the oil regulator at two or three drops a minute at about 2500 RPM, there is not a lot of oil to drain. The feed line does tap into the line between the block and head.

I own and original Marshall, although it isn't installed. I'm running the Moss Magnacharger prototype on my car.

Anyway, I spoke to our resident Marshall expert here at Moss. He's running one on his TC but used a TF 6qt sump for extra oil capacity. Originally, the Marshall's ran the oil return around the front of the engine over the water pump to a hole in the tappet cover. Not a very elegant solution. Instead, he removed the unused clutch pivot point on the sump and drilled and tapped the mounting point for the pivot. He then used a fuel pump elbow (Moss P/N 375-038) on both the blower and the sump and installed copper tubing for the drain. Very neat installation that looks totally factory.
